By sending all of our barrels to Radiograph, or X-Ray testing we are able to identify possible structural defects within the barrel. This is an example of a barrel defect that would not be detected to the naked eye.
SIONICS handguards are incredibly rigid and the inherent design features ensure anti-rotation. Through rigorous testing both by SIONICS and the many LE agencies using SIONICS rifles we can ensure zero retention when using IR/VIS aiming devices.
Our test rifle, “Chuck Norris”, has had over 200,000 rounds through it with very little cleaning or maintenance and still runs great, so you be the judge.
All SIONICS products are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for the life of the original retail purchaser. For more information refer to the terms and conditions page.

Chrome lining is a treatment applied to the inside of SIONICS barrels. Chrome lining is essentially an alternative to a Melonite/nitride finish. During this process, chrome is applied to the lands and grooves of the barrel’s rifling, as well as the chamber. Our barrels are Manganese Phosphate coated. Manganese Phosphate is coating on the outside of the barrel using a sprayed or immersed salt bath to achieve a somewhat porous finish that then more readily accepts and holds lubrication to help prevent corrosion.
Our 11.5″ and 12.5″ barrels come only in a 1/7 twist rate and our 16″ barrel comes in a 1/8 twist rate.
